Configuring and Using Nomad News

Getting started with Nomad News is easy. The on-screen instructions will help you get set up in minutes. See the steps below:

To get started, you'll need two things: 1) Usenet newsgroup account information 2) Nomad News installed on your computer. A list of preferred Usenet newsgroup providers are listed here. Once you get a username/password and server access from one of our listed providers, go onto download a free copy of Nomad News now and install it.

Once installed, start Nomad News via the icon on your desktop (or via START button, (ALL) PROGRAMS, NOMAD NEWS). You'll see

Click on BEGIN and continue on. Once you see this screen

then you're ready to start entering the login(username), password, and NNTP Server name your Newsgroup provider gave you when you joined their service. Click ADD...

And enter the information similar to what is seen above. The NNTP News Host entered above is used if you're using an account from one of our recommended providers Usenet-Access.com. If you're using any other provider listed by us, enter their NNTP News Host in that same space instead of news.usenet-access.com. The 4 most important settings are Display Name, NNTP News Host, Username, and Password. All other settings can remain at their defaults.

Once added, click OK and you'll be take back to your list of Internet Accounts. Hit OK there as well.

Isn't that little nomad great? That's it; now keep in mind there are "windows" inside this application so you may need to move or minimize some so you can see all that are available... like the session log, picture thumbnails, etc.

There are a lot of features so just play around with them to get a better feel; this application is pretty powerful but we think you'll really enjoy it.
